A Pan Yoruba leader of the Afenifere cultural group, Sir Olaniwun Ajayi, is dead.
Sir Olaniwun had granted an interview to Nigerian Tribune where he talked about a pact between northern politicians and some persons based in the United States and Britain.
In that interview, Sir Olaniwun Ajayi revealed that President Buhari and the 19 northern governors had struck a deal with the United States and Great Britain.
The full interview will soon be published.
The Afenifere leader died before 12 midnight on Thursday according to his personal secretary, Mr. Samson Aremu.
He had reported to have complained of pain in the right side of his chest on Thursday afternoon.
He was said to have taken some medications before he was taken to Lagos by one of his sons, Dr. Konyinsola Ajayi, and he gave up the ghost some hours later.
The late Afenifere chieftain was born in Isara-Remo on April 8, 1925 to Mr. Benjamin Ajayi, a farmer and Mariam Efundolamu, who traded in farm produce.
He had his early education at the Islamic Primary School, Epe, where he spent only three months and later enrolled into a primary school in 1937 and completed his primary education in Ode-Remo.
He was engaged by the school to teach afterwards due to his brilliance.
Meanwhile, his nephew, Mr. Adebari Ajayi, said the family had not yet met to determine the burial programs.
He, however, explained that the children of Pa Ajayi would be holding a meeting today (Saturday) to talk about the burial plans.
