President Buhari is currently the most influential Nigerian Muslim in the world. Thirteen other Nigerians made the list.

Topping the list (on the Nigerian Category) is President Buhari and the Sultan of Sokoto.

The third Nigerian to make the eighth edition of the list is Sheikh Ibrahim Saleh, a popular Islamic cleric based in Borno state.

Other persons who appeared in the list of 500 includes Dr. Abdulrahman Olanrewaju Ahmad, Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, Abubakar Shekau, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and others.
