An APC loyalist and staunch supporter of Timipre Sylva, Jonah Okah, was arrested in Bayelsa State yesterday for comments he made on a social media platform.
Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State ordered his arrest.
His offense? He made comments on social media that obliquely supported the arrest of Bayelsa State’s Chief Accountant general, Mr. Richie Etonye.
Jonah Okah also lambasted governor Seriake Dickson’s leadership style.
Recall that Mr. Richie Etonye was arrested by security agencies on allegations bordering money laundering.
Confirming his arrest, Doifie Buokoribo, Mr. Sylva’s media adviser, said Mr. Okah sent him a text message.
The text, “I have just been picked up by the police from the office of the Commissioner of Police from the Bayelsa State Command on the order suspected to be from the Bayelsa State Government.
“I’m being taken to SCID led by one SP Ani.”
When contacted, Asinim Butswat, Bayelsa State Police Command spokesman, said he was not aware of the development but he would look into it.
Earlier this year, Dr. Danfulani, a lecturer with the Kaduna State University, KASU, was picked up by DSS for comments he made on Facebook.

The magistrate, Alhaji Awwal Musa, (who sat over the case), said pending final investigations by the police, that Dr. Danfulani be kept in police custody.
