Femi Fani Kayode is being tried for corruption cases in Lagos and Abuja.
Fani Kayode was granted bail last week, but is yet to meet his bail conditions.
While hos bail is delayed, Fani Kayode failed to appear for his trial in Lagos.
The trial of both Kayode and two others was stalled on Monday due to Fani-Kayode’s absence before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Fani-Kayode’s lawyer, Mr. Wale Balogun, informed the presiding judge Justice Muslim Hassan, of the reason why Fani was absent in court.
Mr. Wale said his client was unable to come to court because he was in Kuje prison in Abuja as of Monday morning.
The popular Kuje prison has become notorious for holding corrupt politicians.
It is also holding persons accused of treasonable felonies like Nnamdi Kanu and Henry Okah.
Standing trial with Fani-Kayode are a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimensions Limited.
While both Usman and Yusuf were in court on Monday for the trial, Fani-Kayode was absent.
Balogun informed the court that Fani-Kayode had been remanded in Kuje prison on the order of Justice John Tsoho of the Abuja division of the court.
Fani kayode was arraigned before Justice John on November 5, 2016 for a different alleged fraud of N26m.
It is not exactly clear why Femi was transferred to Kuje prisons.
But his lawyer says Femi will meet with other political prisoners like Nnamdi Kanu.
Fani Kayode was later released on bail later in the day.
