So sad: Boko Haram overruns general Burutai’s village

Boko Haram, which has been ‘technically decimated’ has invaded the hometown of Chief of Army Staff.

The Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Burutai, is from the hotbed of Boko Haram insurgency in Bornu State.

The terror group invade the village, [neutralizing] many people.

Our correspondents gathered that the prime target of the group seems to be a military base in the remote village of Kamuya.

The militants stormed the area, which is about 10km the Biu Local Government headquarters around 10 a.m.

The source said many were [neutralized] in the two-hour duel, but the terrorists went away with bodies of those they [neutralized].

“We lost some soldiers as well. Some were also wounded in the course of repelling the invaders.

“But we [neutralized] more than a dozen of them in a gun battle that lasted for two hours,” the source said.

The source further told our correspondent that the road linking Biu town with Buratai has been closed temporarily as a result of the attack.

It was gathered that the terrorists had dislodged and burnt down the base before its renewed attack yesterday.
