Tell them I am visiting South-East in March – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced he will be visiting the South-east zone in March this year.

The President made the announcement the same day Nnamdi Kanu’s secret trial began in Abuja.

Recall that the President was slated to attend a business summit in Enugu during the last Chrismas.

IPOB had threatened to die with the President if he visited any ‘Biafraland’.

The President reneged his decision on advice from stakeholders from the region.

They cited the sensitivity of the festive season in the south. The President stayed away.

He said he’d choose a convenient date to visit the region. He just did.

The President said he’d be visiting the region to formally receive some notable Igbo leaders who defected to APC.

Some these includes, Senator Jim Nwobodo, Orji Uzor Kalu, and Ifeanyi Ubah, among others.

The Chairman of the local organizing committee (LOC) of the Buhari Support Organization (BSO), Chief Anike Nwoga, said the exact will be revealed soon.

“Our meeting of January 21 is to strategize on how to give our brothers a rousing welcome in the months ahead.

“For us, it is a celebration that majority of Igbos are acknowledging the efforts of President Buhari in the South-east.

“The region wallowed in dilapidation during the 16 years rule of the PDP, a party that Ndigbo gave 100% support.

“In just 24 months, President Buhari has done more than what the PDP failed to do in 16 years.

“The Aba-Calabar, Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene, Owerri-Port Harcourt Enugu-Onitsha and Enugu-Port Harcourt expressways- is being fixed.

“As you are equally aware, the FG recently released N388.304 billion as refunds of over-deductions on London-Paris Club loans,” Nwoga said.

Nwoga appealed to Ndigbo to have faith in the administration of President Buhari.

He expressed optimism that in the fullness of time, the administration would fulfill all promises made to the region.
