Nigerian security operatives arrested a notable Boko Haram kingpin in Kogi State some weeks ago.
Clues have now emerged that the same Boko Haram kingpin is a relative of one of Buhari’s body guard.
Codex News gathered that “Yes, a suspected Boko Haram member was arrested in Kogi State but he is not one of the Body Guards in the villa,” a security source stated.
Recall that last week, Army Corporal Hassan Aminu, a presidential bodyguard was arrested, for having close ties with Boko Haram.
President Buhari had to order a complete overhaul of his security detail following the surprise discovery.
A security source stated that “Aminu is strongly linked to leaders of the Boko Haram cell and was nabbed before he could carry out any plot.
“He has serious ties with the leader of the Ansaru Islamic Sect, Khalid Albarnawi, second in command to Abubakar Shekau in the hierarchy of the dreaded Boko Haram Sect.
An army source however denied the allegation stating that Members of the Nigerian Army do not have toes with Boko Haram.
The Army officer however accepted that the arrested Boko Haram kingpin from Kogi State is related to one of Buhari’s body guards.
According to the source, most members of the Nigerian Army from Maiduguri have close relatives belonging to Boko Haram “But that does not make the concerned individual a culprit.”
“Are you telling me that if your brother is a doctor that makes you a doctor?
“That is not the way to view these issues especially when it’s an open secret that these terrorists even kill their parents and siblings.
A presidential source however corroborated our previous publication that one of Presiden Buhari’s body guard was indeed related to the second in command of Boko Haram.
According to the source, “He (the body guard) has been withdrawn from his post and is currently being investigated by the ONSA and State House Intelligence team.
The entire scenario has sparked detailed background checks and reshuffling of security personnel around Aso Villa.
