APC North-West reverses Senator Sani Shehu’s suspension

The North West chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has canceled the suspension of Senator Shehu Sani.

Senator Shehu Sani represents Kaduna central at the National Assembly.

Senator Sani was suspended by the Kaduna State chapter of APC.

The APC North-West said, “Every disciplinary measure should strictly follow the constitution of the party.”

Recall that Senator Sani has been involved in a bitter row with Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

He’s been suspended twice by a faction of the party loyal to Governor El-Rufai.

He said intra-party wrangling has threatened the foundation of the party.

Mr. Inuwa also stressed that misunderstandings should be discussed openly to foster harmony, growth and overall interest of the party.

“We should do all we could not to depart from the winning formula of our party in 2015,” he said.

Mr. Inuwa urged all the warring factions in Kaduna State to respect the reconciliation committee.

Recall that APC had set up a committee to resolve the crisis between Governor EL Rufai and Senator Sani.

The chairman of APC northwest governors’ forum, Aminu Masari, heads the reconciliation committee.

The governors of Kano, Umar Ganduje; Katsina, Bello Masari; Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal; Kebbi, Abubakar Bagudu; and Jigawa, Abubakar Badaru, attended the meeting.
