The founder of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, was invited by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Apostle Suleman was invited to come and explain the reasoning behind his “inciting” comments against Fulani herdsmen.
This comes after the security agency made an attempt to arrest the cleric in his hotel room in Ado Ekiti.
Suleman had asked his followers to kill any Fulani herdsmen who come close to them.
The attempt was foiled by Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
Apostle Suleman is expected at the DSS headquarters in Abuja on Monday at 10:00 am.
“Suleman will be appearing before the DSS with about 30 lawyers because we believe that his persecution has become politicized,” a source told Punch.
The church’s Communications Adviser, Phrank Shaibu, also confirmed the pastor will honor the invitation.
He said: “Yes, I can confirm to you that he (Suleiman) was officially invited.
“As a law-abiding citizen, he will honor the DSS’ invitation on Monday.
“The invitation, though ludicrous and an afterthought, is a welcome development.”
