President Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, a former commissioner of police in Kano State as the new Inspector General of Police.
Until his appointment, Idris was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of federal operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Idris replaces Solomon Arase, who will be retiring from the Nigerian police before the end of work today. President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a closed door meeting with Idris for debriefing.
Ibrahim Kpotun Idris hails from Niger State.
