The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has backed Aisha Buhari’s latest outburst regarding her husband’s presidency.
Senator Saraki said he’s been justified by the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.
On 27th of June, Senator Saraki had lamented a group of persons within the government of President Buhari has seized the apparatus of Executive powers to pursue their selfish agenda.
In an interview with BBC Hausa Service, the wife of the president said, “Those who didn’t do anything, who don’t even have voters’ cards are the ones in position, doing everything”.
Saraki’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bamikole Omisore, said Aisha’s comments came “months apart” from Saraki’s own complaint about “the same thing”.
According to Omisore “Aisha Buhari and Bukola Saraki both have the best interest of President Buhari at heart.
“It is true that we still believe that there’s a government within the government.
“We do believe that the president has good intention and we’re behind him.
“But a situation where a few people are in charge does not bode well for the image and the future of our country.
“A situation where people that work within the executive say one thing and other people that work in the same administration do another thing.
“It shows that people are getting directives from different authorities.
“Mrs. Buhari is our mother and she has come out to say that the way things are being run is bad.
“They have dumped APC’s manifesto and the party completely left out of governance. This must stop,” he stated.
