Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has called out president Buhari again.
The former Central Bank Governor warned President Buhari to abandon the proposed plan to borrow $30 billion foreign loan because of its grave consequences.
According to Sanusi, even if the Senate approves the loan, no foreign nation or financial institutions would be willing to grant the request.
The emir made the statement in a paper he wrote titled, “A plan to restore confidence, direction and growth”.
The paper was presented during a policy dialogue organized by an economic think tank, Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development.
The ex-CBN governor argued that for a nation that has five exchange rates, it would be difficult for such request to scale through.
He said President Buhari allowed the nation’s foreign exchange to lose credibility.
He stressed that the Buhari led administration must embrace private sector investments as a means of boosting the economy out of recession.
