Fire for fire: Anambara youths deals with Fulani

At least two Fulani herdsmen have been [neutralized] by unknown persons in Umuoba-Anam LGA in Anambara State.

The leader of Cattle breeders in the South East, Alhaji Sadiq Gidado, confirmed the incidence.

Gidado said the incident took place at the area where the two men and others were grazing.

According to him, the herdsmen were at their grazing ground at Eziagulu-Otu community.

They then decided to go to Otuocha market to buy something.

Gidado said the men never returned as they were allegedly abducted by some youths.

Gidado said the two persons had not been seen since the incident.

He added that the personal belongings of the men have been recovered but that their motorcycle had not been seen.

“If they were [neutralized], all we want to see is their bodies and we will be satisfied.

“I don’t know why some people want to cause trouble.

“We have just signed a peace accord with the state government and security operatives in Anambra State.”

One of the victims’ family members, Alhaji Bello Nuhu, said his family is devastated by the disappearance of their son, Musa Bello Nuhu.

“I was in my house when I got a distress call and I rushed to the place and what I saw frightened me.

“I have been devastated and worried since then because my son was in charge of my cattle.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Samuel Okaula, said policemen have been deployed to the area to forestall reprisals.

He said six suspects have been arrested so far.

The police said they would fish out those behind the dastardly act soon.
