Fourth oil facility blown up in Niger Delta

A group of armed gunmen have just attacked an oil facility in Bayelsa now.

The oil pipeline is reported to belong to Nigerian Agip Oil Company NAOC. Our correspondents say the pipelines in questions are Tebidaba-Brass pipelines along the Azuzuama- Ikienghenbiri creek.

Last week, ex-militants begged Niger Delta avengers to sheath their sword and dialogue with the Nigerian government.

“We have asked President Mohammadu Buhari to strengthen and properly fund the Presidential Amnesty program in order to stop some of the beneficiaries from going back to the creeks.

“Hardship and non-fulfillment of promises made by the Federal Government to them led to the acceptance of the Presidential Amnesty program. A situation where monthly stipends are delayed for months is not encouraging and could lead to undesirable consequences.”

“This is to nip in the bud the use of pathetic situation in the region as bait for the recruitment of unsuspecting and vulnerable youths to militancy and other criminal activities by some criminal elements.”
