Germany finally accepts Buhari’s offer on counter terrorism training by Nigerian Military

We have failed to develop our assets -- Buhari

The National Defense College is the apex military training institution for the Nigerian Armed Forces.

It is a world renowned Centre of Excellence for peace support operations training at the strategic level in West Africa.

Its strategic training in guerrilla warfare and anti-insurgency has sparked interest in some foreign nations.

The Republic of Germany indicated its willingness to send its Officers for the National Defense College Course 25 later in the year.

The German Minister stated that “German Military cooperation in Africa was largely drawn from two broad reasons.

Some of these include “Consequences of global policies and extreme religious intolerance prevalent in some African states.”

Aside from Germany, other countries that has expressed interest includes Brazil, Turkey, and India.

According to NDC’s, “The National Defense College provides the highest level of formal military education.

“It is intended to inculcate a sense of advance military professionalism and involvement in the decision making process.

“I am happy to state here that the next course of the NDC will be having participants from Turkey.

“Others include India, Brazil and other African countries.

“It is expected to be inaugurated on September 15, 2016.”

“It is my earnest desire to continue to promote the college as the center of excellence for developing potential strategic leaders in Africa and globally,” Ebong said.

Ebong also disclosed that the NDC will soon open its doors to participants from the private sector.

Ebong also reiterated the various successes recorded by her alumni in different strategic positions.

Other African nations have also expressed interest in the training.

These nations includes Ghana, Sierra-Leone, Benin and Zambia.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service and Ministry of Defense are indigenous agencies with intent on sending their key personnel for training with NDC.
