A Christian male residing in Kaduna escaped death by the whiskers following repeated knife wounds he received from Muslim youths in his neighborhood.
The man, Francis Emmanuel, was accused for not fasting. The man had repeatedly cried out that he was a Christian, but the irate youths wouldn’t listen.
Mr. Francis was later rushed to St. Gerald Catholic Hospital about one and kilometer from where the incident happened.
On hearing the news, Governor Nasir El Rufai rushed to the hospital and felicitated with the victim, promising to bring the hoodlums to justice.
Mr. Francis might have his right arm amputated as deep blows from machete wounds damaged several blood vessels. He also sustained deep wounds in his face and back.
Recuperating on his hospital bed, Mr. Francis narrated his ordeal to journalists. According to Francis, “I was taking my launch when some boys numbering about six descended on me and asked why I was not fasting.
I explained I was Christian. They wouldn’t listen to any of that. They went out, came back with machetes and attacked me. In the process of fending them off, I had deep cuts all over.
