The leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has resurfaced in a new video on Thursday.
Shekau denied claims by the Nigerian President that his group has been routed from the sambisa forest.
“We are safe. We have not been flushed out of anywhere.
“And tactics and strategies cannot reveal our location except if Allah wills by his decree.
“You should not be telling lies to the people.
“If you indeed crushed us, how can you see me like this?

“How many times have you killed us in your bogus death?
“Our aim is to establish an Islamic Caliphate and we have our own Caliphate, we are not part of Nigeria,” Shekau boasted in the video.
Recall that the Nigerian Army had claimed the group probably relocated to a forest in Bauchi state.
We cannot independently confirm if Shekau’s latest video is responsible for the cancellation of the planned visit to Bauchi State.
This is the second time the president is suspending the visit in less than three weeks.
The President was earlier billed to visit Bauchi on Tuesday December 13th.
That visit was put off as he had to be in Gambia to mediate alongside others in the election quagmire in that country.
The president suddenly canceled his visit today after all preparations were in place to receive him.
President Buhari is expected during the visit to commission the newly established Airforce Base and it’s 60-bed ultra modern hospital.
He is also expected to commission some roads projects being executed by governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar in Bauchi metropolis.
