Why Goodluck Jonathan is silent on current PDP crisis

The People’s Democratic Party is currently rocked with leadership crisis. Why Goodluck Jonathan is quiet tells a lot too.

Ali Modu Sheriff and Markarfi are battling over the soul of the party. PDP’s different factions have been in and out of different court rooms.

It was on the heels of the seeming lack of direction of the major opposition party that Governor Adams Oshiomhole described the current leadership crisi rocking PDP as an act of God.

According to Governor Oshiomhole, “Today, you can see confusion inside the party that brought Nigeria to its knees.

“Can you not see the hand of God? They said they would rule for 60 years. Now 16 years later, they are out.

“There was a time when the whole country was afraid and being attacked.

“Muslims and Christians were equally attacked by Boko Haram.

“The money that was voted by the National Assembly to secure both Muslims and Christians; to secure our country, against these hooligans (insurgents), this money was stolen and shared by the PDP leaders.

“If that situation had continued, by today, there would have been no Nigeria.

“So, if President Buhari had not come now to ask everybody to give account, you and I would not know why the Nigerian government was not able to tame Boko Haram,” Oshiomhole lamented.

Speaking further, the comrade Governor also stated that, “We should just pray and encourage ourselves and play our part.

“Nigeria will become great again.

“I believe that in the next two months, with the vigor President Buhari is squeezing out all the things that had been stolen and blocking all the loopholes, things will change.”

Mr. Marshall Okafor Anyanwu a chieftain in Imo State has described Sheriff’s action as a deliberate effort to decimate the party.

In a phone interview with reporters, stated that, “The surprising thing about Sheriff is that he was appointed and not elected.

“Those who appointed him have asked him to handover, the man has vowed to destroy the party.”

Anyanwu further stressed that PDP is greater than any individual and that any attempt to destroy it would not succeed.

“With the calibre of people in the party, it is difficult for Sheriff or any other person to think he can decimate PDP,” Anyanwu said.

It is believed that Goodluck Jonathan’t silence on the current crisis rocking the party is not unrelated to his corruption investigation.

Goodluck Jonathan seem to threading carefully so as not to attract Buhari’s fury as President Buhari seem to try individuals most vocal against his governing style.
